Dalyan
Experience nature, culture and hospitality
Dalyan lyes between Fethiye and Marmaris, no far from the Dalaman airport in the southwest of Turkey.
The nature reserve around Dalyan is especially interesting for holiday amkers who prefer an individual and idyic holiday away from the hotel complexes of Bodrum, Marmaris or Alanya.
Dalyan - a trip to the past.
Dalyan lyes an one of the many rivers of the delta between fields, sweet smelling Ambertrees, green forrests and waterfalls. The best way to cover the 4Km distance to the sea and its long sandbeach is by one of the boats.
Today, dalyan is not only a nature reserve but also stands under denkmalgeschützt. Next to the simple farming and fisher hauses of the original village have risen, over the past few years, a few two and three storey buildings in the regional Mugla style. Fish restaurants with suprisingly moderate prices some of which lie on the water front mingle with bars and smaller hotels to complete the ecological and socialogical infrastructure.

Kaunos
A trip to the past, and to the local mountain
For a couple of lira a rowing boat will bring you to Daylans port on the other bank of the river.Directy to the right rise the lykik kingsgraves carved into the rock. People of the more sportly persuasion can scramble over th scree up to the base and have a look into the graves vaults. Without the excursion to the graves you`ll nead around 30 minites on foot before the antique city of Kaunos rises infront of you.
Here you walk through the ruins of wht used to be a „hamam“ (Turkish baths), a citadelle and an aphitheater – stone timewitnesses of the past. Those who climb to the baracade wall remains will be rewarded with and amazing panorama over Daylan down to the Sea. Pause here and enjoy the silence.
